Time to plan for the New Year- New Year's EVE that is!

Christmas was just over and the planning for New Year's Eve began a week ago. There are events and things to do all over town- frankly it's a good problem to have, having a hard time choosing which events to go to. But I will for SURE be downtown- all kinds of restaurants are having special dinners. Lemongrass and downtown grill and Dovetail for sure, and Kashmir will have a New Year's Eve Masquerade (but be sure to get your tickets in advance)! There will also be the Cherry Blossom Ball Drop and the ARC will have their annual ball at the Terminal Station.

My head is spinning already! How will we ever decide? And to top it off I am still debating outfits (would you expect anything less).

This I can tell you: we will eating at Dovetail this evening. Below is the menu according to the email they sent out:

The first course is an Amuse Bouch and is served with a glass of champagne. You get a choice of four different options with your appetizer and entree. To finish the meal Pastry Chef, Ashley Dunn, has prepared a dessert trio. You get to taste all three! It's going to be a night full of fun and flavor!
Amuse Bouch

Appetizer
Choose One:
Pecan Smoked Corn Chowder - paprika biscotti, buttermilk creme fraiche
Grilled Endive Salad - roasted beets, toasted pecans, heavenly blue, whole grain vinaigrette
Chili Rubbed Pork - pecan bacon pesto, perimmon jam, sherry cider vinegar
Curry Rubbed King Crab Legs - aromatic Carolima rice, coriander crab hollandaise
Entree

Butter Pached Shelled Lobster - triple cream brie grits, three sisters succotash

Beef Filet - horseradish rutabaga mash, charred tomato hollandaise, asparagus salad
Dessert Trio

This wonderful New Year's Meal is $85 per person. Spots for this special dinner have been filling up quickly since it was first announced. So, we suggest you make your reservations as quickly as possible.
We look forward to dining with you on New Year's Eve at Dovetail.

I know yall are jealous ;) But there are a bunch of places offering special menus- I mentioned Lemongrass above but I believe Tic Toc is as well and I know downtown grill is. Afterwards, I'm not sure everything we're doing- I know we're going to Cox Capitol Theatre and Kashmir. What are your plans? I know one thing is for sure- it's gonna be a fantastic night with all of my wonderful friends! 2012 has been fantastic and 2013 will be even better.
